Fixation of the bone flaps after craniotomy is a routine part of any neurosurgical procedure. The ideal fixation device should be safe, reliable, biologically inert, easy to use and inexpensive, and should not produce artifacts on neuroimaging. The authors of this article describe a new device that meets these criteria: NtCranial. This is an observational, multi-center study, analyzing 56 patients who underwent a craniotomy and underwent cranial bone flap fixation with NtCranial. The authors conclude that NtCranial provides a safe, reliable and easily applicable post-operative fixation system.
